5. Reasons to Take the Lord's Supper

The Lord gave His name to only two celebrations in the life of His church; the Lord's Supper and the Lord's Day.  The one is a remembrance of His substitutionary death on the cross and the other a celebration of His resurrection from the dead.

However, the Lord's Supper is intended to be more than a mere remembrance of the cross.  It is a place of communion between the Lord and His church and it functions as another of the means by which He imparts grace to those who are His and who rightly partake of the meal.

In this section of our series, we will consider from Scripture what the Supper is and what purposes it serves in the life of the believer and the congregation, as an encouragement to us to come regularly and rightly to the Table to receive grace from our Lord.
